About Huval Speech Services
Chelsie Huval, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for helping individuals across the lifespan improve their communication and swallowing abilities. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2016.
Chelsie began her career at St. Martin Hospital, where she provided speech therapy services in both pediatric and adult outpatient settings, as well as within the hospital's inpatient swing bed unit. She then joined Acadiana Brain Injury Center, where she spent two years evaluating and treating individuals with neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injuries and cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs). Her work focused on supporting functional transitions back into the community and helping clients develop compensatory strategies to live as independently as possible. She later served as the Director of Rehabilitation Services at the facility.
Her experience expanded further through contract work in a variety of healthcare settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospitals, intensive care units (ICU), neonatal ICU, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. She also served as Rehabilitation Director at multiple skilled nursing facilities in Lafayette, including a specialized unit for long-term care of ventilator and tracheostomy patients.

Chelsie is also certified in the AmpCare Effective Swallowing Protocol, which includes the use of therapeutic neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Currently, she is working toward becoming a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders through the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.
